integrated. It narrates the absurdism of gender dynamics in Chinese online society through intense sensory overloads. The environment of HerVerse is a surreal gallery space, where every element - organic, feminine landscapes, reactive soundscapes, and explicit visuals - symbolizes the gendered dynamics of power, the gaze, and societal expectations. The environment unfolds across four interconnected levels, all accessed via a central elevator.
Exhibited at Mosaic 2025, the piece received strong audience engagement, sparked diverse and critical conversations on digital platforms, algorithmic misogyny, and synthetic femininity.

This is the algorithmic theater of online platforms: structured for discourse, sustained by spectacle. The rules of engagement aren’t written, but they are enforced.
Audiences are forced to forfeit their agency in this disorienting world and interact with its elements. The landscape, off-kilter and unpredictable, increases the discomfort of the participant. The environment itself is appalled at the voyeurism inherent in the viewer’s presence.
